166 Year Old Maine House To Be Moved Over 100 Miles

So, you move to Maine and decide that you want to live in Cape Elizabeth, but fall in love with a house in Skowhegan.  What do you do?  Like something out of a rum commercial you MOVE THE HOUSE!

When Andy Bowman and Rachel Lomas moved from Texas to Maine, they knew they wanted to live in Cape Elizabeth (near where Andy had vacationed as a child), but found the house they wanted in Skowhegan.  Since it was going to be cheaper to purchase and move the house than it would be to build a new one in Cape Elizabeth, they decided to move the house.  According to the KJ, the house will be cut into 6 or 8 pieces, loaded onto the back of trucks, and moved to Cape Elizabeth.

The 14-room house, valued at nearly $193,000, has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, hardwood flooring, plaster walls and a wrap-around porch.
