There is a proposal in the works to make “revenge porn” illegal in Maine. House Republican Leader Ken Fredette has drawn up a law that would make it illegal to distribute pictures or videos of other naked individuals engaged in a sexual act without their consent.

Some say it violates "Freedom of Speech,” but common sense would tell you it violates the victimized person more to have those pictures online.

If the law were to pass, putting those pictures or videos mentioned above would be a Class D crime and would carry a penalty of up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine. For more on the story, check out the link from WGME.
