Hard to believe it has been 19 years since Alanis Morissette released ‘Jagged Little Pill’. Madonna’s label at the time, Maverick dropped one of the 90s biggest records on June 13, 1995.

Since, the album has sold 33 million copies worldwide and 16 million in the US. The CD brought six singles over almost a two year span.

I remember playing “You Oughta Know” for the first time, thinking “ouch” I wouldn’t want to be “that guy” he’s singing about. That guy Morisette sings about in the song, is rumored to be David Coulier, known as Joey on ‘Full House’.

Following “You Oughta Know” came a train of softer hits, “Hand in My Pocket” was the second release which by the way still is one of my favorite songs to outro on radio. It has a 15 second ending that was made for talking over.

“Ironic” was third, a song about things that weren’t ironic, just bad luck. The song however did start everyone using the phrase, “ironic, don’t ya think?”

“You Learn” and “Head Over Feet” were the other two most memorable hits from the album and the sixth song off of ‘Jagged Little Pill’ was “All I Really Want” which didn’t last as long on radio as the previous five.

What are some of your memories that go along with ‘Jagged Little Pill’?
