Why is it that we live in a time where the government has to control every facet of our life? Maybe it's just me, but I think we would function better as a common people and society with LESS government. The proposed bill 'L.D. 94' sponsored by Amy Bradstreet Arate, R-New Gloucester, would (how I understand it) allow the state to dictate what materials are considered 'obscene' and have them removed from school classrooms and libraries.

The bill, according to opponents, would even allow the state to prosecute librarians who intentionally or otherwise, distribute reading material or allow books to be taken out that are not approved by state officials.

If you think High School students can't handle reading a book with some suggestive sexual situations, you're out of touch. If you think some reading material is going to be the worst thing they do, you're mistaken. You should legislate a bill that would prevent them from streaming Porn Hub and sending 'nudes' through snapchat.

Anyway, that's just my opinion, but what do I know? Let's blindfold and put earmuffs on all students until they turn 18.
