ArtWalk Gardiner this Friday (August 7) will showcase original fine art and crafts created by local artists, featuring paintings, drawings, fine art prints, photography and everything from textiles, sculpture, jewelry and ceramics.

The event is from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Historic Downtown Gardiner on Water Street.

ArtWalk Gardiner was first launched in 2005 by Artdogs studios and a handful of other area artists. Their the mission is to increase community awareness and appreciation of the visual arts, to encourage interaction with local artists and the public, and to nurture a supportive network that also enhances the local economy.

The event will also include free refreshments and artists’ demonstrations. There will be children’s activities, including “Chalk the Walk,” and live music by Brian Kavanah and Stan Davis of “Hurry Down Sunshine.”

Horse drawn wagon rides to outlying venues will also be available.
