Built in 1872 by Hiram York, The Artist' Bridge in Newry, Maine is one of the covered bridges featured in Travel + Leisure Magazine's article of 'America's Most Beautiful Covered Bridges'.

At it's peak, around 120 covered bridges dotted the Maine landscape. After, ice, snow, floods and age, only nine covered bridges remain in our state.

The artist's bridge is no longer open to traffic but it remains one of Maine's most photographed and painted sites.

The artist's bridge is now owned by the state of Maine and is a great spot for swimming, fishing, a picnic, and relaxing. The bridge has also hosted several weddings.
