Augusta Man Convicted of Killing Girlfriend

The jury  found 41-year-old Justin Pillsbury guilty in the 2013 stabbing death of 24-year-old old Jillian Jones in an Augusta apartment. 

The verdict came after 3 ½ hours of deliberations.

Prosecutors had said Pillsbury stabbed Jones 12 times in a jealous rage during an alcohol-fueled fight over her communication with another man.

Pillsbury's attorneys said he killed Jones when she attacked him with a knife.

Neighbors in the apartment building reported hearing an argument on the night Jones died.

The crime scene was discovered by another roommate who arrived to find Jones dead and Pillsbury unconscious with self-inflicted stab wounds.
