UPDATE: Augusta police have taken Ryan McLaughlin, 26 of Dreseden, into custody and is being held on federal charges related to the robberies of a pharmacy at an Augusta Shaw's on Monday (Nov. 11) and Tuesday (Nov. 12.)

The pharmacy at the Shaw’s Supermarket on Western Ave., Augusta was robbed today (Nov. 13) just before 12:30 pm. It is the second time this week that the same location has been robbed. Monday (Nov. 11) was the first incident.

The Augusta Police Department says a man entered the pharmacy and handed employees a threatening note asking for Oxycontin. Authorities believe both robberies, which occurred around the same time both days, were committed by the same man.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, 6 feet tall with brown hair and wearing a green Carhartt style jacket. The male fled the pharmacy/supermarket on foot and was tracked with the use of a K-9 unit with no success. No one was injured during the incident.
