Who knew the Augusta Police had a museum? They do! Albeit small, it is a collection of history from throughout the department's history, going as far back as the 1800s.

Now, they have a new "exhibit" to add to their collection. It's a badge that it's believed was worn by City Marshal Dennis Donovan in 1906 and 1907.

The man who brought it here, Keith Bushy of California, in an instructor with the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. He has one of the largest badge collections in the country and one of them was this Augusta Marshal's badge, which he brought with him when he came to town for some training.

Impressed with the Augusta Police Department's care for past artifacts, he said he felt the badge should stay in Augusta. According to Christian Behr of the APD, there was one caveat. Someone had to wear the badge for a period of time. Chief Robert Gregoire chose Behr, who said he was honored.
