'Jupiter Ascending,' which released two posters earlier today, has just unleashed its latest trailer, giving us a better look at the story. It seems The Wachowskis have merged the standard 'Star Wars'-esque hero's journey with the tale of a princess (Played by Mila Kunis) who finds out her destiny from Channing Tatum after a lifetime of menial labor. The big takeaway from this new spot is that the film looks epic.
We haven't heard much about New Regency and Ubisoft's planned big screen version of 'Splinter Cell' since a bidding war broke out to get the film rights and Tom Hardysigned on to play the lead back in 2012. But now the film looks like it might have a director in Doug Liman and an August start date.
Too often Hollywood wants to remake perfect movies. When they redo films like 'Halloween' or 'Pyscho' the quality level has virtually only one place to go. So it's always exciting to hear that they want to take a flawed but fascinating film and give it a new spin, which is why it's good to hear that 'Explorers' is the latest film to get the remake treatment.
'Terminator 5,' which has the subtitle 'Genesis,' is going to have the sticky problem of trying to reboot the franchise to start a new trilogy, while also interweaving material from the original four films (though likely it will stick closer to the first film, with nods to some of the sequels) on top of bringing back Arnold Schwarzenegger in some capacity. To help provide the duct tape to make this possible, the film is looking to recruit J.K. Simmons to play a very important role.
Chadwick Boseman stars in the James Brown biopic 'Get on Up,' and now there's a trailer for the movie about the Godfather of Soul's rise to fame and fortune. Will this follow director Tate Taylor's 'The Help' in being both a late summer hit and an Oscar favorite? It's possible.
Though we're still no closer to knowing who will lead 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' the latest casting rumor suggests that '12 Years a Slave' Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o is up to play one of the villains -- or a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi -- in the film.
Sacha Baron Cohen was attached to the Freddie Mercury biopic for many years, but once the project started moving forward Cohen left, and the film seemed like it might die. But then Ben Whishaw joined and actor-turned-director Dexter Fletcher was hired to helm the project. Now Fletcher has left the film, citing "creative differences," which makes us wonder if this project is cursed.
'Batman vs. Superman' was originally dated for the summer of 2015, but as the script hasn't been finished yet, Warner Brothers pushed the film to May 6, 2016. That date was initially called by Marvel, and it seems they're not going to back down, meaning we're going to get an old fashion comic book rumble.
