Half is better than none, right? 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' will have a Super Bowl spot this Sunday, but Sony doesn't want to spoil all the surprises just yet, so they've released half of their new trailer.
Perhaps due to the success of the 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' and 'Smurfs' franchises, 'Chip 'n Dale' are going to be brought to the big screen in a similar way as Disney is pursuing a live action/animation hybrid feature film version of their origin story.
One of this spring's biggest question marks is Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah,' which has Russell Crowe playing the titular hero, the biblical figure who saved his family and all the animals with his giant ark. Now the film has a final poster that suggests Noah is ready for action.
Though many of the 2014 OscarNominations seemed inevitable (we're looking at you, 'Gravity,' '12 Years a Slave' and 'American Hustle'), there were a number of surprises -- some pleasant, some less so. But perhaps the biggest "Huh?" was the best song nomination for 'Alone Yet Not Alone.' It turns out that the film violated campaigning rules, and has been disqualified.
Talk about building buzz! We're over a year away from the release of the hotly anticipated big screen version of 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' but Universal is already trying to stoke the fires for the film by releasing a poster in five cities tomorrow, spotlighting the back of its Christian Grey, Jamie Dornan.
Warner Brothers recently shuffled their release dates when 'Batman Vs. Superman' was moved into 2016 and 'Pan' was put into the date the Zack Snyder film had previously claimed. Marvel, perhaps sensing that an updated version of 'Peter Pan' is no direct competition, has now moved Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man' up to July 17, 2015.
'X-Men: Days of Future Past' director Bryan Singer loves to tease his upcoming film, as all through production he tweeted photos from the set, and now he's setting us up to pay attention on January 27, which promises to be a "day of surprises.'
2015 was looking like the craziest year in cinema history (at least in terms of blockbusters) with 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron,' 'Star Wars: Episode 7' and more battling it out in the summer and winter months. 'Batman Vs. Superman' was one of the those big titles, but Warner Brothers and DC seemingly don't want to compete with that crowd and have moved the picture to May 6, 2016
Though perhaps not thought of as a mega-blockbuster, 'Despicable Me 2' grossed $368 million domestically and $935 million worldwide, and is currently the 25th highest grossing film in America and 24th worldwide. So, no surprise, Universal has dated 'Despicable Me 3' for 2017.
'Batman Vs. Superman' (or as it's officially known, 'The Untitled Zack Snyder Super Hero Film'), is already crowded with superheroes, which makes it feel like Warner Brothers was trying to make the 'Man of Steel' sequel into a 'Justice League' movie. The latest rumor suggests that 'Batman Vs. Superman' won't be a 'Justice League' movie, but will lead directly into one that will co-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
