January 30, 2013 When I worked at a convenience store back in the mid 90's there were three basic rules for selling alcohol, Still are, I’m sure. The rules were that the person buying has to be of legal age (21) with proof, the person buying has to be coherent, meaning not drunk and it’s a judgment call on the seller and thirdly, you can’t sell after or before hours.

January 29, 2013 It’s Super Bowl 47 or XLVII. New England isn’t in it, so I’m trying to come up with reasons to watch. There are the commercials, sure the spectacle of the game and of course, the halftime show. Super Bowl halftime shows can be kind of hit or miss.
January 29, 2013 As I write this, my wife and oldest son are at the orthodontist getting spacers put on for his braces. So, it's just me and Vikki this morning. I would be out shoveling but in my mind it's going to melt by Thursday as temps are heading to the upper 40s. Whatever doesn't melt I'll shovel then.
January 28, 2013 You may have read my posts or heard me talk about quitting smoking. Now I'm comfortable with graduating to the next level. Stopping smoking and getting off nicotine are two different adventures in quitting, at least for me. When you go from smoking to the patch or gum you are happy you're no longer smoking and on the path to being a non-smoker but the whole time you're on nicotine replacement you're also thinking, you're really not off of tobacco until you go with nothing.

January 27, 2013 Over the weekend we didn't really do much. We played a family game of Skip-Bo or two, watched a bit of TV and did a few errands. To be quite honest it was just a lazy weekend. We haven't had one in awhile which was nice, basically nothing except Justin's basketball game was scheduled. One thing I didn't do and hadn't for a few days was shave.

January 24, 2013 What is the furthest or craziest thing you’ve done to get a job? For this story we have to go back to the summer of 1994 when I was 22 years old. In June of 1994 I was hired as a part time DJ at a station in Yarmouth, NS. I wasn’t there very long but long enough to hear the stations in Maine over The Bay of Fundy.
