January 11, 2013 Maybe it's because I'm a city boy but I like the idea of mass commuter transit between Lewiston-Auburn and Portland. I like what city officials say and I would like to see commuter bus service between all of the major towns in Maine along major routes, like 202, 100, 196, parts of Rt. 1 and so on.

January 9, 2013 The 2013 Baseball Hall of Fame elections were earlier today an no player was selected. It's the first time since 1996 that nobody on the ballot got in. On this years ballot were a few of the 'steroid era' players, including Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa.

January 8, 2013 It’s like going to the dentist, doctors or veterinarian’s. It's that once a year trek to get your car inspected. Is it going to be $12.50? Will it be more? Today it was my wife’s car, the Saab's turn for its 'well visit,' so-to-speak. My idea of getting an inspection done is waiting until either you get a warning from the police or two months over due, which ever comes first.

The NHL Lockout is over and the season starts in less than two weeks. I am excited about the 48-50 game schedule like I was last year with the NBA shortened season. I don’t blame players and owners for feuding over money and leverage but what seems outrageous to me is how long it took to get a deal done.
January 7, 2013 January 7th is ‘National Old Rock Day.’ You'll see today is about old rocks as in igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic type rocks. Old rocks and fossils aren't a lot fun to talk about at least now that school has let out for the day. So, I'll use the day as a springboard to talk about music.
