Tomorrow is "Camp Day" at Tim Horton's. Last year, Tim Horton's raised 11 million dollars to help send kids to camp who otherwise couldn't afford to go. Every time you buy a Tim Horton's coffee on June 5th, you're helping kids ages 9 through 12 go to a 10-day summer camp or week-long winter camp.
This past weekend is I think the earliest we've ever put our air conditioners in the windows. Crazy to think here in Maine we go from 50 degree highs over Memorial Day weekend to 90 this past weekend. From using heating oil to turning on the A/C in a week.
Earlier today I had a fun time at McDonald's in Newport. This week it's their grand re-opening. They have lots of 99 cent specials this week including their 6 piece McNuggets, Egg White Delight and sausage burrito.
After we moved into the house last year we bought a lot of "stuff" including a small pantry cabinet. Our intent was always to buy a second to stack one on the other. We never did and I'm kind of thankful we didn't because it's busted. Vikki being a two years old beat on the door which after awhile detached, broke, then came off and eventually became unusable even after applying duct tape.
Crazy to think it’s been two years since my youngest was born. Vikki came into the world at 3:16 pm on May 31, 2011. She has grown so much in the past 24 months. She started walking at about a year, talking at 18 months and dropped the pacifier habit without issue at 23 months. Her vocabulary has exploded in the past month or so as well.
Back on May 15, 2010, I went to see a Fisher Cats game in Manchester, N.H. We had a good time, even though the visiting Sea Dogs lost. Ate at the Arrowhead Diner, and everything was all good until the drive home. It was a Saturday night at 11:49 on I-95 in Wells where I was bagged for going 91 in a 65.
I think it’s time once again for my rant regarding interleague play in Major League Baseball (MLB). I don’t like it now, I didn’t like the idea when it was being tossed around way back in the early to mid 90s and I don't think I'll like it in 20 years. There is nothing to be really gained for the way it is set up, except in the few markets where a city has two teams like New York, Chicago, the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, but even then the Angels aren’t an L.A. team.
