‘Jackass’ Director Jeff Tremaine’s Next Project Will Be the Motley Crue Biopic ‘Dirt’

Director Jeff Tremaine's four movies (the three 'Jackass' films plus 'Bad Grandpa') to date have grossed over $300 million, almost assuring that he'd one day get the right to direct a traditional feature film. Well, today is that day. Tremaine has signed on to direct 'Dirt,' a biopic based on the tumultuous career of legendary glam metal band Motley Crue.

One of the very first 'Star Wars: Episode 7' announcements (minus the announcement that it was actually happening) was that Michael Arndt, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter behind 'Toy Story 3' and 'Little Miss Sunshine,' would be writing the script.

No longer.

Lucasfilm has confirmed today that Arndt is out and director J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan ('The Empire Strikes Back') have "assumed screenwriting duties" on 'Star Wars: Episode 7.'
