I am the News Director for the Townsquare Media/Augusta-Waterville stations and also the host of our public affairs show, "Issues," Sunday mornings! Make sure you come say "Hi" to me at one of our many live local broadcasts.
TANKS-GIVING is Central Maine’s biggest food drive. For years this food drive has been raising tons of non-perishables and thousands of dollars helping the food banks of central Maine. Today is day three and here is where you can help out at Shaw’s in Augusta 8-4 and Shaw’s in Waterville from 9-4. Donations of non-perishables and cash help...big time!
TANKS-GIVING is Central Maine’s biggest food drive. Like six tons of food last year. And for years this food drive has been raising tons of non-perishables and thousands of dollars helping the food banks of central Maine. But this year, Tanks-giving REALLY needs your help.
Yes, you read that right. If you can afford to fill the tank you might want to think about it. Maine officials say the price of heating oil in the state dropped 8 cents this week, continuing a downward trend in the price of fuel. This is darn exciting. I mean…we have had some really awesome trips you have been able to win with 92Moose...but this takes it to the next level. This is an opportunity to win a trip to London, England (yes, please!) to see Taylor Swift in concert (awesome!) and a MEET AND GREET with Taylor Swift (breathless!)
In the monthly discussion we have been having about domestic violence issues in central Maine we have looked at a number of issues. Our most recent discussion was about domestic violence and the conversation about domestic violence and pro sports. Check out what the ladies from the Family Violence Project talked about!
AND I LOVE IT! Everything about this video should shock you, and I am not talking about the swearing. The issues these little princesses talk about are real. The issues are driven home by these girls, dressed like princesses, swearing up a storm about pay equality, rape and violence, self-worth and sexism. This video is the edited version and it is still may be not suitable for work….but you should find a time and place to watch the whole thing!
