I am the News Director for the Townsquare Media/Augusta-Waterville stations and also the host of our public affairs show, "Issues," Sunday mornings! Make sure you come say "Hi" to me at one of our many live local broadcasts.
OMG..I am really considering going back to using good ol’ cash. NOW…the Maine Bankers Association said we have something new scam to be aware of. The new scam targets Mainers by using automated calls and real debit card numbers.
To me this was such an easy decision, but what do I know? What else could you use it for besides making keepsakes and jewelry? But the ‘Maine powers-that-be’ are considering a plan to sell or give some of the weathered green copper from the Statehouse dome to jewelers and artists.
I kinda wish I had another week of vacation for this year. I would take the week of Sept 21 off from work. WHY? It is the big week for TV fall premiers. I love TV. So my DVR will be getting a work out the next week or so.
Please note my sarcasm in my headline. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen says the ‘Great Recession’ showed that a large number of American families are "extraordinarily vulnerable" to financial setbacks because they have few assets to fall back on. Really? This is news? But I guess maybe if you are Chairperson of the Federal Reserve you are probably a bit disconnected with the realities for so many of us ‘common folk’.
This summer I decided to have some fun with my hair. It started with a rainbow of color. After that faded we had enough dye left to do a green, blue and purple mix all over my head. Gotta say, I loved that mix. But what has been the best is how the color of my hair has affected my interactions with people. Most of them have been AMAZING!
Just about 40 pounds down for me. Lost 30 of it in three months. BUT the best part I have KEPT IT OFF without having to struggle with Mend-A-Body Solutions. Let's face it, IF addressing weight issues was easy we would all be at a healthy weight. It is hard! MABS makes that whole process a lot easier. They meet you where you are and they are there to support you when YOU need it.
In the monthly discussion we have been having about domestic violence issues in central Maine we have looked at a number of issues. Our most recent discussion was about domestic violence and supporting the victims of domestic violence. Check out what the ladies from the Family Violence Project talked about!
I was flipping through the September 2014 Dispatch Magazine and noticed an interesting review on some restaurants who have political connections. Among the choices was 'The Cross Cafe' in the lower level Cross Office Building at the State House Complex in Augusta. The food there is great! One reviewer was very pleased, the other give it a 3 out of 5, but said they would try it again when in the area. It is not a place you might think for weekday breakfast or lunch, but try it, I think you will like it too.
