Augusta residents approved a bond to expand and renovate Lithgow Library Tuesday. According to the KJ, Voters approved a proposal to borrow $8 million to nearly triple the size of the city’s historic public library by a vote of 2,153 to 461, an 82 % margin of victory
Here is a chance to learn more about the upcoming vote in Augusta on Lithgow Library. Augusta voters will have their say on the renovation, expansion and preservation of this amazing building. Libraries are such cool places and offer so much to the community, Lithgow is not different. I will also solve a new mystery in my life...Lithgow...do we say it. 'Lith-go' or 'Lith-gow' like cow? I have heard it both ways...
Woops. An appearance by “American Idol” alum Chris Daughtry on the morning show Fox & Friends has triggered backlash and a videotaped apology by the singer. He was on the show last Friday, D-Day. So, as the show was closing, the hosts asked Daughtry to take part last moment request to sing a song in honor of the day. Daughtry was caught off guard and made some comments that did not go over well. "I'm off the clock", "I'm going to watch 'y'all" and "This is where I'll bail".
Gardiner has been very active and creative in attracting new business to their downtown. As a result, Frosty's Donuts is coming to town! The program is called the Gardiner Growth Initiative. It is made up of Gardiner Main Street, The Bank of Maine, the Gardiner Board of Trade and the city of Gardiner.
