Auto Makers Push to Make it Illegal to Work on Your Own Car [POLL]

The days of being a backyard mechanic may be numbered if the auto makers get their way.

In essence, automakers are lobbying Congress to make it a copyright infringement if you toy with the electronics of your vehicle. Due to the all of the computer components,  the Auto Alliance, which is made up of 12 of the largest car manufacturers, is saying they own the technology and it up to them to do the work. The Auto Alliance claims that owners working on a car's electronics could possibly lead to safety issues.
