Avicii Announces New Album ‘#TRUE’ Due Out on September 17

Avicii has a whole slew of new things coming up! Not only has he inked a new deal with Island Records, but he will be releasing some brand-spanking new tunes with the label!

He announced he'll be releasing a new album titled '#TRUE' on Sept. 17, which will feature his single 'Wake Me Up.' Fans will be able to nab the single soon... as it's available on iTunes come Tuesday June 25, despite already streaming on YouTube. The track, which has a country and folky flavor, is already proving to be a tour de force on the charts as it's hit No. 1 in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands. Dang!

As for Avicii's album, '#TRUE,' it will feature artists like Nile Rodgers, Aloe Blacc, and Michael Einsinger of Incubus. Sounds like a motley crew to us!

The Swedish DJ is obviously excited about his upcoming full-length album saying, "This album really changed the way I think, the way I see music. I worked with all these people from different genres. They all bring their own influences into my work and it’s so interesting to hear what comes out."

Avicii also pulled inspiration from an unlikely place for another upcoming song. He is joining forces with the Lotus F1 racing team to release a song that is inspired by the sport of auto racing. What a cool idea! So what will this sound like? A press release said the track "will take inspiration from the human emotion of the drivers, the ebb and flow of the race and the intensity of the atmosphere at the racetrack." As, you can see in the pics below, he did just that, making a visit to Enstone, England, home of the Lotus F1 Team.
