Bicyclist Killed in Trek Across Maine [UPDATE]
According to early reports from WMTW TV, a bicyclist participating in the Trek Across Maine has been struck by a tractor trailer and killed
Police report that 23-year-old David LeClair of Watertown Mass., was struck and killed instantly. Friends stopped to help and call police, giving a description of the truck, which did not stop.
Witnesses said that LeClair was hit by the rear portion of the tractor trailer.
A while later, a truck matching the description was pulled over in Rumford and being checked while the driver was being questioned.
The accident happened on Route 2 in the town of Hanover in Oxford County. Traffic is backed up for several miles.
