After a few weeks of gas prices inching upward, we noticed a drop this week for a gallon of gas; both nationally and in Central Maine.

According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine this week is $2.311, which is down nearly four cents from last weeks statewide average of $2.350.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.330, which is down four cents from last weeks average price of $2.370.

We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine.

In Augusta, the cheapest place we could find for gas was at the C& S Market 785 Riverside Drive which is selling gas at $2.25 a gallon. Other places in Augusta include the Kenoco Station 336 Western Ave which is selling gas at $2.26 a gallon, and the Irving Station 262 Western Ave which reported gas at $2.28 a gallon.

In Waterville, the cheapest places we could find were at The Irving Station 445 KMD and The Shell Station 500 KMD. Both checked in with gas at $2.27 a gallon.

In Skowhegan, the cheapest place we could find was at The Irving Station 374 Madison Ave which is selling gas at $2.33 a gallon.
