Billy Currington Turned Himself Into the Cops [MUGSHOT]
Country singer Billy Currington has turned himself into police today (April 25) after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest for such delightful allegations as elder abuse and terroristic threats.
Currington was indicted by a grand jury on terroristic threats and abuse of an elder following an April 15 incident. Currington wasn't arrested at the time of the initial incident, which was pretty horrifying.
The crooner allegedly threatened a 70-year-old charter boat captain named Charles Harvey Ferrelle. Ferrelle had the nerve to pass by Currington’s Tybee Island, Ga. property with two boats. When Ferrelle made his return trip, he claims Currington was waiting in his own boat with a camera and started chasing him.
Apparently Currington was also considering looking for a warrant against Ferrelle, saying that Ferrelle's boat’s wake almost knocked a man from off of his deck. A care taker at Currington’s residence called police the day after Ferrelle contacted authorities, which may make the allegations look more retaliatory than valid.
As for what Currington's up against? In Georgia, a terroristic threat is a felony punishable by a fine of $1,000 and 1-5 years in prison. Currington’s bond was set at $27,000.
