It was 30 years ago today that ‘Born in the USA’ by Bruce Springsteen was released. I had at least two copies of it in my lifetime, cassette and CD for sure, trying to think back if I had it on LP or not, either way it was a staple from the 80s music catalog.

The album was loaded with seven hits that kept the album relevant for over a year and a half.

‘Born in the USA’ has sold over 20 million records world wide, 15 million here in the US alone.

For awards, the album is responsible for winning 16 awards overall, including six American Music Awards, four Grammys and four MTV VMAs.

I have to say ‘Born in the USA’ is one of the albums from my tween years that had a major impact on my life.
