If you’re in China and you’ve been dying for a chance to run into Brad Pitt on the street, it’s been a sad 15 years or so for you. After his role in 1997’s ‘Seven Years In Tibet,’ Pitt was banned from ever entering the country since its government had a teeny tiny problem with how it was portrayed in the film.

But a mysterious tweet from Pitt over the weekend made it seem like he might be allowed to visit China once again.

Word on the street is that Pitt joined Weibo -- the Chinese version of Twitter -- and wrote:

It is the truth. Yup, I’m coming.

The 33-character missive sent waves across the web -- it was forwarded more than 31,000 times and elicited more than 14,000 comments. The puzzling post also earned Pitt more than 100,000 Weibo followers in very short order.

So, is Pitt going to China? If so, why? Charitable purposes? As an ambassador of some kind? For a movie? Is he taking the family (or, more likely, adding to it)?

No one seems to know. But the tabloids will probably find a way to make it all about the non-existent feud between Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie anyway. Because that just never ever gets old.
