Surrounded by balloons, streamers and other party decorations, Bruno Mars stopped by 'Today' this morning (Dec. 11) to celebrate today's release of his sophomore album 'Unorthodox Jukebox' in style and perform some of its tracks.

Mars and his band wore bow ties and ruffled tuxedo shirts for the occasion, which began with a rocking performance of his current smash 'Locked Out of Heaven.' That was followed by the new song 'If I Knew,' which revealed an old-time pop vibe.

Mars took a minute to chat with host Matt Lauer and explained that he and the band had been out of all night celebrating before they rolled up to the studio in a limo. He added that he tried to take a more fun approach when it came to putting together 'Unorthodox Jukebox.' "I definitely feel like I've learned so much from touring and being on the road and having this awesome band. I felt like I needed the content, and I definitely have it on this album, for us to have some fun," he said.

Mars stuck around to offer one more number, a soulful spin on 'White Christmas' featuring vocals from his band. 'Unorthodox Jukebox' is a good bet to surpass the No. 3 peak of Bruno's Grammy-winning debut, 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans.'
