October 11, 2012 The Richmond Area Health Center has wrapped up their second year of a successful weight loss program. This year it was over 3000 pounds. That is about the weight of a couple of draft horses!

October 2, 2012 I saw a post from the Augusta Food Bank on Facebook. It said “they are low on spaghetti sauce and Shaw's is having a pretty good deal on it". The Augusta Food Bank asked "could you pick up a couple jars next time you're there? “I know that being low on items is an issue for just about all food banks. Just keep that in mind when you shopping, if you see a great deal, seize it! Your local food bank can use it.
October 1, 2012 The Mid Maine Homeless Shelter in Waterville will be opening soon. It is a brand new facility to help with not only shelter, but resources for those in need. One group of people seen more and more in shelters in more recent history are kids and families. So, 17 year old Albert Joseph Languet IV is working on earning his Eagle Scout by building a playground at the new shelter.
September 30, 2012 Friday evening was the Grand Opening broadcast with Goodwill in Augusta. What an amazing store. It is all the great stuff you go to Goodwill for, just more room for it. But two of the big changes I saw was they have a covered area to drop off donations and they have a big work area out back to sort and take care of those donations. But Goodwill is much more.

September 28, 2012 This weekend, September 30th it's start of the Fryeburg Fair. The fair runs until October 7th, so there is plenty of time if you can't go Sunday. We try to go up as a family every year, not sure about this year but it is an amazing event if you've never been.
September 28, 2012 Eric Dodge, junior at Erskine Academy, won the annual KV YMCA 5k Road Race this morning. The weather was clear and a crisp 38 degrees when the runners got underway at 6:35.
