Recently, I began teaching Evan how to play baseball, starting with hitting. I always loved to be the batter and I assumed he would too. He did, indeed. He became quite good very quickly! Now, we need to work on catching. He's got a real good arm for four-years-old, so he's halfway there.
Wow, what a day so far. We started with wrapping up laundry to have clean clothes for the trip to Halifax and Edmundston. Took us an hour to pick out clothes to take but I think everything is packed and for the road tomorrow. Lynn and I had a quick lunch at about 10:30 and then it was off to the Portland Jetport to get the minivan rental. I don’t have a picture of it yet because of how quick the pick up was.
So, I'm sharing this post for a few reasons. First and foremost, I love to share stories that involve Evan (I know, I'm way too young to be a grandfather..I get that all the time. No, really, all the time! Oh, and I'm delusional).
Had my lab work follow up appointment with the Doctor today. As you may have read about three months ago I saw the Doctor and she sent me for lab work. I did it and a few things came back out of whack. My thyroid came back at 18+ which is Hypothyroidism, cholesterol was elevated a bit and my glucose reading was normal but on the high end.
The 4th of July celebration in Winslow has to be one of the if not the largest 4th of July celebration in the state! Tonight it's the street dance which is still going on as I write this post. I was there while the band, 'Spare Change' performed. They performed a great set of 50s, 60s, 70s and a few 80s classic rock songs as well.
We are only a day away from Independence Day. Happy Birthday, America! There will be plenty of festivals, parades and celebrations all throughout Maine and many fireworks displays as well. Here's a quick guide of fireworks displays in Central Maine:
Lynn my wife and I signed the closing paperwork on our house a year ago yesterday, June 29, 2012. A year ago today we moved in. I remember the day well. Many family members and friends helped us. We went through I think two flats of Poland Spring water.
Saturday morning Mike Gagne texts me, "What's Jonny up to today?" That's code for "let's do something." I was all over it in 10 seconds and, what with Kids Day in Capital Park canceled because of the weather, I had no plans. I dropped the Jeep off with the boys at Stratham Tire in Augusta for an oil change and tire rotation, where Mike picked me up, and we were Cabela's bound (again)!
