What Are Your Memorial Day Weekend Plans?

Memorial Day weekend is here. One of the busiest travel times of the year next to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Are you going anywhere? Are you working? Part of my weekend plans were going to include the Lewiston/Auburn parade tomorrow to watch my son play the trumpet in the middle and high school band. Too bad the parade was cancelled due to rain.

Today was garbage day on our street, which means it’s the day where we go through the fridge and toss all of the food and stuff that might be only appealing to a lab. I have a love and hate affair with leftovers. I love certain things reheated and some other foods not so much.

Today we took "Sweetie," our new cat to the vet for her free "welcome to our practice visit." We adopted "Sweetie" last Sunday at the Great Androscoggin Humane Society. When you adopt, you get a free visit to use within a week or two. We took "Sweetie" to our vet, "Thunder's" doctor, Dr. Rennix at the Poland Animal Hospital. I love them. If you live close to Lewiston/Auburn or Minot/Mechanic Falls, I would fully recommend them.

For some time our family has been talking about getting a second cat, as a playmate or friend for "Thunder." So yesterday, Lynn and I told the kids we'd go to The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society just to look. "Just to look" is I guess code in our house for bring the cat carrier just in case.
