March 11, 2013 So, have you ever bought anything on QVC, HSN or some other shopping channel? Last night was my first time ever and probably only time. For months now we've wanted, OK, I've wanted a Keurig coffee maker and to this point I've (meaning we've) never been able to stomach the idea of buying the K-Cup coffee. It works out to like 50 cents a cup when you divide it down.

March 11, 2013 What is the real purpose in 2013 for Daylight Savings Time? I know it adds a bit of daylight to the end of the day rather than having it first thing in the morning. Today with a 24-hour lifestyle, it almost seem irrelevant at least as far as I can see. Locally in Maine, life my be slower, but in bigger cities and places further south with 24/7 grocery stores, round the clock shift work, etc. it almost seems pointless.
March 11, 2013 Viles Arboretum in Augusta is one of the most beautiful places on any day in any season. If you have not taken a nice afternoon to explore the beautiful grounds and planting and collection, you are missing something special. But this winter they have been offering dog sled rides on Sundays. I can tell you, it is "paw-some"!
March 11, 2013 It happens every spring and every time it happens people complain about the one less hour of sleep they'll be getting. I don't get it. Doesn't phase me in the least, but 61% of people surveyed says it has a negative affect on them.
March 9, 2013 What a beautiful day to be out and about. Lynn and I did just that, went out. Originally we went looking for a graphing calculator for Dylan. With the weather in our travels we got the bug to look at possible spring and summer home upgrade projects.
March 8, 2013 I’m not a huge church going Catholic. Maybe I should go more but anyway this is not why I’m writing. The occasional time I have gone to mass with my family it was nice to see Fr. Brendan Harnett a priest do homily with a sense of humor and have it be light-hearted and fun. Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and the Auburn community have lost a good person.
March 8, 2013 It is always great to see and talk with someone that is so nice, like Elizabeth Vanderweide. I first met Elizabeth a few years ago because of the Harold Alfond College Challenge. Personally, I think she has one of the coolest jobs around. She helps people be aware and take advantage of money for secondary education.
March 8, 2013 So maybe you're getting a refund from the Feds? And maybe you've filed already and are wondering when you'll get your money. As I do almost daily and you can do to is check your refund status at an IRS link, "Where's My Refund." It's pretty easy. You just need you Social Security number, how your filing and the amount of your return.
March 7, 2013 If supporters in Portland get enough signatures on their petition, a question regarding recreational marijuana use may go on the ballot and out to voters as early as this year. The intent of the measure from what I gather is to allow people to smoke small amounts in their personal or a private space or one provided to them, like inside their home or designated areas. Similar rules to what we have now for alcohol.
