When I was growing up in Auburn, we would often go to Pettingill Park and spend hours upon hours in the public playground. This past weekend, I went to a local playground with my friend and his young son and it dawned on my how much they have changed.
One of my favorite websites, onlyinyourstate.com, recently did a story called the '15 Undeniable Things You'll Find In Every Maine Home'. That got me thinking that we can use there story as a launching pad and have you add things to the list.
2016 marks the centennial anniversary of the National Park Service and our national parks are a great summer family vacation. Fourth graders across the country can get a free park to access the entire park system for a year, part of the Kid in a Park program. Many national parks are offering special programs for kids of all ages.
Yesterday, even though it was raining, my buddy Joey and I headed out bright and early for Sevade Pond in Windsor to get a couple (five) hours of fishing in. It was kind of a slow start but then BAM, off to the races!
