September 11, 2012 Saturday started out as just a ride north for my dad and me. As we approached Bangor, I remembered Marie Anne mentioning something about a museum with military displays so I Googled it and found the Cole Land Transportation Museum. So there we went!
September 10, 2012 I started my day by handing Jon James my copy of '50 Shades of Grey' to read. So, during the 92 Moose Morning Show he read a few passages on the radio for us all to enjoy. After all, Jon is a famous voice guy, who better? I, for one, thought that Ellen DeGeneres did an amazing job! She gets my vote. Ellen just rocks it!!
September 8, 2012 Ted and Muriel Smith have overseen the Litchfield Fair Apple Pie Contest for the last time and they will be missed! Although Ted says they will still be involved somewhat with the fair, it will be on a much smaller scale. I can honestly say, they are a true pleasure to work with every year and I want to thank them, personally and, on behalf of our whole crew, for inviting us year after year.
September 7, 2012 There has been a fair amount of talk recently about giving students more non traditional options for school. Sometimes that's because children have been sick, live in a remote area or for some, the school environment just does not help them thrive. Like everything there is not one best answer. But, it is nice to have options.
September 5, 2012 I admit it...I like to use things that no one else (at least in my circle of people) uses. I'm the only gun enthusiast in our little morning show group....the only ham radio operator (Mac calls me a "hammy." Not sure if it's right but it's cute)....and the only one who uses the Opera web browser on my computer....both at home and work. And not JUST because it's different.
September 5, 2012 The Litchfield Fair is a central Maine favorite and runs this Friday through Sunday. The rides, smell of food in the air (good, unhealthy food) and games (which I rarely play...but a fair wouldn't be the same without them).
September 3, 2012 No kidding. ONE RED PEPPER out of six plants. It is a very handsome red pepper. But since it was the only one from these six plants, it should be. I had one cucumber vine and had a bunch of cukes. That is a good return on investment. Now tomatoes, IKES! I ended up with a bunch of these little orange tomatoes.
September 3, 2012 It is such a little treat to go to gas station and have gas pumped for you. It is not that I can't do it. I can and I do, since most places I go do not have attendants to pump the gas. But for some people it is not a luxury, it is more of a needed service. And on a very selfish note, they give out treats to a dog in car, and ShadowDog REALLY likes that service.
