Donald Trump announced he would declare a national emergency to fund the wall he wants to build along the southern border—and celebrities like Lauren Jauregui are not having it.

Declaring an emergency will help Trump re-direct money from the federal budget, except building a wall isn't exactly a "National Emergency." According to The Atlantic, the U.S. law, which was established in 1977, allows the president to declare a national emergency “to deal with any unusual and extraordinary threat to national security, foreign policy, or the economy." In other words, building a wall doesn't exactly fit that criterion.

In a statement, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said: “President Trump will sign the government funding bill, and as he has stated before, he will also take other executive action—including a national emergency—to ensure we stop the national security and humanitarian crisis at the border.”
