--Messalonskee will play either Kennebunk or Gorham in the Class B state final at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Colisee in Lewiston.

Eight semifinalists were announced for the annual Travis Roy Award, given to the top senior in Maine high school boys’ hockey among Class A schools.
The semifinalists from Eastern A are Bradford Berube and Caleb Labrie, St. Dominic; Jake Fournier, Bangor; and Cody Martin, Lawrence/Skowhegan.
Among Western Class A schools, the semifinalists are Brandon Daigle, Biddeford; Isac Nordstrom, Falmouth; Dean Pratt, Noble/Wells; and Andrew Whipple, South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete. Finalists will be announced Monday. The winner will be announced March 15.

Boston Red Sox: got their Spring Training schedule underway winning 2-1 over Northeastern University.
--In the 2nd game the Sox and Boston College honored Pete Frates with both squads wearing No. 3 jerseys. Frates, who suffers from ALS is a former Eagles captain who helped create the Ice Bucket Challenge, which has raised more than $200M. The Sox won the game, 1-0.
