Carrie Underwood is looking good. Apparently she stayed looking so healthy and fit by being a vegetarian and in the last few years a ‘practical vegan’. She was taking about that move in the November 2013 issue of Women’s Health.  She calls it being a ‘practical vegan’.  As a vegetarian who strives to the more vegan end of that spectrum, I respect that and totally understand.

Carrie said “I am a vegan but I consider myself to be a practical vegan,” the star says. “If I order something on a menu and it has a sprinkling of cheese on top I’m not going to send it back.”  Carrie has been a vegetarian. That means a no fish, no chicken, no meat vegetarian.  She went on to day “The vegan thing is something I try to do my best on because it’s a cheesy world out there. We recently went to Italy and they put cheese in, on and around everything. So I kind of had to be vegetarian when I was on vacation, and now that I’ve been back home I’ve been getting back into my vegan lifestyle.” I hear you Carrie.  I don’t buy cheese but if it finds its way to me, who am I to argue. For me, it was not cheese, it was eggs that were hard to avoid and give up.

I still struggle with my food choices, but Carrie is doing a great job at it. Gees LOOK AT HER!  She says her skin looks good thanks to coconut oil.  She uses it on her food and her skin and hair. I have been using coconut oil on my hair and skin since last winter. It really does make a difference. I love it. Glad I am not alone! Thanks Carrie. Now off to get my November 2013 issue of Women’s Heath.
