The Oakland Police Department has announced a chance to meet officers during an upcoming 'Coffee with a Cop' and open house.

According to the Oakland PD facebook page, the United States Department of Justice and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) has partnered with police departments to conduct the first national 'Coffee with a Cop' day to be held on October 7.

This is your opportunity to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. Also, at the same time you can take a tour of the new Oakland Police Department.

'Coffee with a Cop' will be held in The Cascade Room, which is the training room and can be accessed through the rear entrance of the Oakland Police Department. 'Coffee with a Cop' is scheduled for 7:00 am to 9:00 am. This will be followed by a brief 'Open House Ceremony' at 9:00 am, with tours for the remainder of the day.
