A construction worker was killed on Tuesday when a dump truck backed over him. The accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. in the southbound lane of I-95

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that James Woodward, age 50 of Westbrook was working at the site on the York River Bridge in York. The driver of the truck was Garry Johnson, age 53 of Hollis. Both men worked for Shaw Brothers, which is doing the work on the project.

The Southbound lane of I-95 was already closed to traffic, so the accident was only witnessed by others working at the site.
