Cop Car Hits Bicyclist, Guy on Bike Gets Billed for Repairs!

How lame is this? A guy in Brooklyn is bicycling down the road and leaves the bike lane to make a left turn after checking to make sure it's clear. Suddenly, a car, owned be the New York City Police Department, comes up beside him and he gets sideswiped and knocked down....

Justin Johnsen was taken to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and sent home. He says he never considered suing the police even though the officer driving never so much as apologized. Then, the bill came.

The city was demanding $1,263.01 to cover cost of repairs to the car! They even threatened to sue him until the New York Post started making inquiries and then they suddenly dropped the issue.

I think the guy should reconsider suing the police. Just for being jerks.
