Amanda Bynes' mother Lynn is preparing for court with her troubled daughter on Friday (August 9), and she's asked the judge overseeing her bid for a conservatorship of the 27-year-old for a closed courtroom. Which is fun for absolutely no one.

"Much of the testimony that will take place during Lynne's attempt to become Amanda's temporary conservator, will deal with sensitive medical information about the actress," a source blabbed to Radar Online. "Lynn will testify about Amanda's sad downward spiral, and Amanda herself could even take the stand. The last thing Amanda needs is the media dissecting her every movement and what she could potentially say."

They concluded, "Lynn has made the request to protect Amanda and give her privacy."

Bynes is currently still on a judge-approved psychiatric hold after setting a stranger's driveway on fire, which was extended so doctors could determine the cause of her mental illness, which some say is rumored to be schizophrenia.

Part of us is still upset that her plea for release was denied, because oh how we miss her Twitter ranting.
