Earlier this year, the Good Shepherd Food Bank was given a grant of $3 million to pay for produce and seafood from Maine providers to help with local food programs.  But, this grant created another need...

According to WABI TV, they will use the money to purchase approximately one million pounds of food per year.  And, in order to keep that food fresh, plan to install freezers and coolers in their Hampden warehouse.

Darling's Auto has stepped up to help fund that project.  On Tuesday, the local auto group of auto dealerships donated nearly $60,000 to help fund the installation of those coolers.

With warehouses in Hampden and Auburn, the Good Shepherd Food Bank helps 178,000 Mainers across all 16 counties.
