Dead Harbor Seals Have Been Washing Ashore at Maine Beaches

Marine mammal experts are trying to figure out why over 30 dead harbor seals have washed ashore in southern Maine in just the past 2 days.

Monday (Aug. 13) 11 harbor seals were discovered on Bayview and Kinney Shores beaches in Saco. Officials are testing tissue samples of carcasses, that were mostly pups.

According to the Press Herald, other dead harbor seals have been found washed ashore at Wells Beach and Ogunquit Beach.
