New charges have been filed against famed singer/songwriter Don Mc Lean. The Knox County District Attorney officially filed six new charges today (Feb. 17) in connection with an alleged domestic violence assault last month at his residence in Camden.

McLean, 70, was originally arrested last month (Jan. 18) on a misdemeanor count of domestic violence.

McLean's wife, after his arrest, filed a handwritten request for protection, that was later dismissed after they announced through their lawyer that they had "agreed to move forward."

The new charges filed by the DA’s office include a domestic violence assault, domestic violence terrorizing, domestic violence criminal threatening, criminal restraint, criminal mischief and obstructing the report of a crime.

His is facing up to 364 days in jail for each offense. They are all Class D misdemeanors.
