Watch Drake Perform ‘Hotline Bling’ at a Bat Mitzvah

MTV may have tragically canceled My Super Sweet 16 -- their reality series documenting the lavish birthday parties of teenagers who come from super rich families — back in 2008, but fear not: The longstanding tradition of parents hiring popular artists to play a few songs for a room full of overprivileged, celebratory school kids remains alive and well.

Most recently, Canadian rapper Drake played a Bat Mitzvah at New York City’s Rainbow Room, according to a report from Complex. Thankfully, snippets of his performances were caught on camera, because we now live in an age where documenting everything for social media is the norm.

Drake, who was likely hired to perform just a few tracks as opposed to a full set, played his recent single “Summer Sixteen,” his hit “Hotline Bling” and his version of Fetty Wap’s “My Way.” You can check out some short videos from the Bat Mitzvah below, courtesy of Twitter.

The Bat Mitzvah was reportedly for Gigi Ashkenazy, the daughter of Ben Ashkenazy, whose real estate company has a net worth of $7 billion, according to a report from TMZ. There's no word as to how much Drake charged for the appearance, but Contact Music reports he made a quick $250,000 when he performed at a New York Bar Mitzvah back in 2011.
