According to WGME, the E. coli outbreak that has sickened dozens of people across a dozen states has actually been good for some people... Local farmers!

Immediately after the news broke, grocery stores pulled their romaine lettuce.

Customers turned to local offerings to replace the potentially contaminated greens.  With the increased demand, some stores quickly ran out of the locally sourced vegetables.
