Monday, April 22 is Earth Day. In full disclosure, I am a tree hugger and proud of it. Every day I look around and see how much more I could be doing. I see what we all could be doing. But here are some easy ways to take it easy on Mother Earth. Even my ShadowDog is getting in the mood with his new Earth Day collar. He likes nature.

Taking a walk to some errands is good for the planet and your body.  Or take the bus, carpool, bike or in my case, my scooter. It will cut down on greenhouse gas emissions. Properly recycle your old electronics. It is called e-cycling. And I use energy efficient light bulbs. They last forever and work just fine.

Turn the water off when you brush your teeth. It really does save water, and if you pay for your water. It can save you on that bill as well.  Same with a little bit shorter shower. Fix your leaky faucets and wash clothes when you have a full load.  It all will help you use water wisely.

Reduce, reuse, and recycle. How many times have you heard that! Take your re-usable bags with you shopping. You can put more in them and you don’t have all those little plastic bags around.  I reuse the back side of any sheets of paper that come my way. Keep you appliances and vehicles in good shape you will not need to replace them as often. Compost if you can.  Instead of trashing something can it be reused is some other way?  My most creative re-use I have done, well, I had an old toilet and put it in my front yard and put flowers in it. It was a plant pot. Get it?

I have some cleaning ideas. I hate the smell and the reaction I get from the cleaning supplies you can get at the store.  I mostly use vinegar and water on JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING.  Baking soda can make a nice little abrasive paste. Mixing vinegar and baking soda can be fun and helps clear a drain.  I use ammonia on my kitchen floor.  I do use bleach in the toilet.  YOU must take note, NEVER EVER EVER use bleach and ammonia together. NEVER.

There are SO many ways you can make a difference. These are just few things I came up with. Enjoy your Earth Day.
