A Massachusetts grand jury today (Aug. 22) indicted former New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez on a first-degree murder charge. He's accused in the death of Odin Lloyd, whose bullet-riddled body was found in an industrial park near his home.

The grand jury charged Hernandez with the killing of Lloyd, who was a semi-professional football player who was dating the Hernandez’s girlfriend's sister.

Hernandez, if found guilty, could face life in prison.

His lawyers continue to say that the case against him is circumstantial and that they are confident he will be found innocent.

He continues to be held in jail without bail.
