Because of a significant loss in revenue, they are talking about $500,000 per month, the leadership of Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington will be cutting 35 to 40 jobs. The head of the hospital said the staff reduction is part of an overall action plan designed to reduce overall expenses by $6 million by June.

According to the Sun Journal, the overall reduction plan is for staff reductions that could include doctors, changes in health practices, including closing the Wilton Family Practice building and moving providers to other sites, and also working to provide more efficient care.

Eleven open jobs will not be filled. The rest of the job cuts will be layoffs. Last year, 52 jobs were eliminated through a resignation package offered to employees. However, the hospital isn't in a place to offer that again.
