Game of Thrones will return later in the year than we’re used to in 2017, but HBO isn’t about to let you forget about the series after six years. Before December finally brings the winter of 2017 upon us, HBO will marathon all six seasons of Game of Thrones in one dragon-sized catchup.

HBO confirms that December 26 will air all ten episodes of Game of Thrones Season 1, with each subsequent day airing the next Game of Thrones season up to December 31. Granted, January 1 will bring back some other shared U.K. stars to ease our hangovers, but we’ll still have to wait until summer 2017 for Season 7.

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 7, a list of directors for the year has been announced along with rumors of some major set pieces and battles, while at least a portion of filming will take place in Iceland. Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent has been confirmed for a “significant” role, along with UFC star Conor McGregor, while several notable returns have likely been revealed.

There’s every chance the Game of Thrones marathon might drop a surprise or two to tide us over until Season 7, but should we ring in the New Year with the last of our ten-episodes seasons?
