For the second week in a row, gas prices have dropped both in Maine and nationally.

According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine is $2.337, which is down over three cents from last weeks average price of $2.371.

This weeks national average for a gallon of gas is $2.329, which is down three and a half cents from last weeks national average of $2.364.

We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine.

In Augusta, the lowest places we could find for a gallon of gas were at the C & S Market on Riverside Drive which is selling gas at $2.23 a gallon, and the Kenoco Station at 363 Western Ave, which is selling gas at $2.25 a gallon.

In Waterville, the cheapest places we could find for gas were at the Citgo Station at 364 Main Street which is selling gas at $2.26 a gallon, and at J & S Oil at 320 Kennedy Memorial Drive. Gas there is $2.29 a gallon.
