I just found a really fun site ‘Girl Is Not A 2 Letter Word’. OK, I will admit I was enchanted by the name and it turns I was right.  It all started with pro skateboarder Cindy Whitehead.
In the 1970’s Cindy took the skateboarding world by storm with her style and technicality.  And let’s face it,  girls just did not do stuff like that.

She made all sorts of skating boarding breakthroughs, and she is a word smith creating the term "sports stylist." It is exactly what it sounds like. She works as a fashion stylist with companies like Gatorade, Nike, the NBA, and athletes like Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant and Mia Hamm to get ‘the look.’ I really could use some help like that.

Last year Cindy, who is about my age, made headlines by skateboarding down a closed highway in Los Angeles and now she has her own skateboard collaboration "GIRL is NOT a 4 Letter Word" and part of the money goes to GRO 'Girl Riders Organization;.

Cindy is part of America history, she was asked by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History to donate equipment & clothing she wore as a professional skateboarder during the late 70's and early 80's.  They also wanted the prototype of the "Girl is NOT a 4 letter Word" skateboard and it's original artwork.

I don’t skateboard, not my thing, but I love what Cindy had done and continues to do to push the limits and let everyone know Girl Rule.
